About Us

Bespoke History and Cruise Industry Expertise

You may not realise it, but passenger ships changed the way we live. From introducing new technologies, to creating reliable links between nations; from their use in both World Wars to their transition into modern day floating resorts, ships have changed the world.

Our deep passion for maritime history and passenger shipping, combined with our storytelling expertise, media training and understanding of the cruise industry makes us a valuable partner for your project.

Offering bespoke services tailored to your needs, our maritime history knowledge blends with public relations and marketing skills to provide a unique service that adds value to cruise events, presentations and media activity across the world.

Our Story

Our first book, QE2: A Photographic Journey, was published in 2008, just before the ship was retired. During the ship’s final season, we travelled on board and were able to sign our book outside the bookshop! (To this day, one of the most thrilling experiences we have ever had!)

Chris also began his lecture career aboard QE2 on that same voyage, giving three lectures about the ship and the history of the Cunard line. The lectures were a great success, and our business has grown from there.

Today we have 18 books published, run a successful YouTube channel and even have a cruising podcast. We work with cruise lines, maritime museums and media worldwide to share the story of the passenger ship.

Our Expertise

Rachelle Cross

My passion is storytelling, so I’m the person people turn to when they have a writing or editing question.

I prefer to take a more background role in the business, and rarely step in front of the camera. Basically, I’m camera shy!

I thrive on writing tasks, especially when it comes to our books, Chris’ lectures and preparation of specialty documents such as quizzes and history backgrounders.

Known as a whiz with research, I enjoy digging through historical and archival documents to identify compelling stories and events from history. (Did you know, there was a Royal Commission on the Butter Industry in Australia?)

With strong attention to detail, I am often the one to add the final polish to a written document, such as a magazine article or keynote speech.

Chris Frame

The public face of our business, I have spent a decade and a half speaking to audiences, and sharing my expertise in passenger ship history.

Though this started out with me providing Insights lectures aboard the Cunard Line, I have since branched out, speaking aboard other cruise lines, as well as in museums, libraries and at special events such as celebratory dinners and for travel agencies.

In addition, I co-host The Big Cruise Podcast, a weekly podcast about the cruise industry, and have a YouTube channel @ChrisFrameOfficial that discusses topics ranging from current cruise industry events to ocean liner history.

With a background and many awards in brand, marketing and PR it made sense to branch out into offering a writing service for both cruise lines and PR agencies to help with events and sharing information.

I am media trained, with extensive experience with television news, live interviews and radio. I also write for a number of globally respected magazines.
